Autumn’s Muse

Such lovely prose and picture. Sharing from Ethereal Nature

Ethereal Nature

until even the gravel ends
in needled paths
immersed in worlds
boreal and arboreal
the evergreens are ever green
but the tamaracks are smokey gold
breathing comes as natural
as inspiration

the quaking aspen
gracefully sheds its leaves
with each coaxing breeze
because to cling to life
that has already passed
would be to die
but to surrender
to the underworld of dormancy
ensures another rebirth

until even the gravel ends
a homecoming to the wilds
where there is no habitation
a fire amidst the firs
a hearth for my heart
but for the hand
that is not in mine
but I am ever green
and ever dying

Just Shine

Lighting up life. Glorious picture and quote from Tania Marie. Oxox

We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine. ~Dwight L. Moody

Granny Spears ~ ‘Herbology’

Love how active Granny still is and how she shared some of the info she used that was passed down from mother to daughter. I’m saving and sharing this info. Love to hear more from her. Thanks Laura and Gillian!

Granny Spears ~ ‘Herbology’

When we got married Ernie was bringing home about £1 17s 6d.

Now this was long before we went decimal so in todays money that would be about £1.25 a week, a couple of dollars to you Tess.

Now, although everyone thinks that we have always had free healthcare in the UK that’s not so. A visit to the doctor when we got married amounted to just over half a months pay so it was pretty much out of the question if we wanted to eat. The National Health Service got started in the late 1940′s, before then we had to pay.

Unless it was especially serious we relied on remedies passed down to us over the years, and most of the things we used involved plants, with the occasional bee added for good measure!  Usually, someone local had what you needed if you didn’t grow…

Live Your Dreams Now

Yes embrace today and your gifts

Tania Marie

dream it do itLife is fleeting…a blink of an eye…yet many of us keep pushing off the things in life we know in our hearts we would love to experience AND came here to experience.

Tomorrow is no guarantee, but you do have this moment.

Express the things you’ve wanted to share with others, do something courageous toward your dreams, experience something new you haven’t, and savor what you do have.

It may make all the difference and begin to write a new chapter that begins the first day you really start living. dreams

As War Looms…keeping Faith with Mother Earth!

Beauty and the caring for that which we want to and can is highlighted in this poignant post by Colette at Bealtaine Cottage. Thank you Laura Bruno for posting. Oxox

Bealtaine Cottage, Ireland

permaculture gardens at bealtainecottage.com 008Such news as makes me angry…so off into the gardens to get working and channel my energy as best I can!

And as if Mother Earth

heard my despair, she has worked tirelessly overnight making the compost heap look beautiful…I laugh out loud in joy!

This morning as I spread compost and seaweed on the vegetable beds, before mulching down with cardboard and straw, I ponder on putting the exposed earth to bed for the winter…this makes me feel as though I am nurturing the great Mother.

It is all I can do to help assuage the horrors of what Man does to her!

The big tidy-up is important, before the wind and rain sets in…and what a lot of tidying to be done!

Just in case you thought anything about where the compost toilet is emptied…in these neat bins, holes drilled into the bottom of each, no smell, no…

Lee Harris Energy

Energy Update from Lee – September 25th 2014:

Hi Everyone,

I recorded the October Energy forecast earlier this week (given I am traveling again). It will be released next week, but in the forecast, I mention an upcoming rapid ‘energy-opening’ time for all of us on Earth. And this can be preceded by pulses or ‘triggers’ in your energy and physical body.

This forecast ‘Opening’ comes after what has felt (for many) like 2 years of a ‘slow down’ energetically. In extreme cases, this slow-down would leave you feeling compressed, trapped or clamped in your life, feelings or physicality.

Gratitude as a Revolutionary Act: You Are Enough!

Love these inspiring posts. Also posted in FB

Laura Bruno's Blog

These two videos came across my path on the same day, and taken together, they gather power. The first is part of another talk by Joanna Macy. The second needs a tissue warning. This mirror made women cry (in a good way).

Joanna Macy: “Gratitude is a Revolutionary Act”

The Mrs.: “I’m Enough”

From the YouTube description:

We are The Mrs., an all-female band from Austin, Texas. We recently asked women how they felt when they looked in the mirror. As you can see, we didn’t like the answer, so we decided to help change it.

“ENOUGH” looking in the mirror with such a critical eye.
“ENOUGH” of that negative voice we hear in our heads.
“ENOUGH” letting the world tell us who we should be.

The Mrs.’ debut single, “Enough”, was written to help women see themselves with a less critical eye, and realize that they are “Enough” just…

The Dancing Traffic Light

Just dance ☺️

Laura Bruno's Blog

I love this — and the concept can be applied not just to traffic lights but to all the circumstances, events and changes we keep wanting to rush through because waiting — even for perfect timing — feels uncomfortable. As the pixies say, “When in doubt, dance!”
